When employment disputes arise from unfair dismissal to harassment at the workplace, you will need assistance and advice from solicitors who know every employment law aspect. That is because in many cases, your objective is to look for a quick and satisfactory resolution as opposed to a protracted and damaging conflict.

Redundancy typically occurs when there is no longer a need for someone to perform your job – for example, if the business closes or the method the work is performed changes. Dealing with redundancy can be difficult, much more so if you’ve been in the same position for a long period of time or desired to remain with the company.

If you’ve worked for your company for at least two years by the time your job ends, your employer is required to follow a fair redundancy process. At least one individual meeting with your employer to discuss redundancy should be scheduled. Apart from your private meeting, there is no established procedure.

Compensation for redundancy is calculated using your pre-tax wages (called gross pay). For each complete year working for your company, you are entitled to the following: up to the age of 22, half a week’s pay between the ages of 22 and 40 – one week’s pay

Our specialist employment solicitors have the expertise that will assist you to manage employment issues by working in the background where required, in addition to providing full legal representation. Our employment law solicitors will always consider and advise on alternative dispute resolution processes to help you solve your issue as soon as possible.
